Unrecognizably transformed, this phenomenal basement underwent a major redesign and renovation in Bedford, New Hampshire. Planning began with a goal to capture more of the unfinished space and to change and expand the exterior entrance point with sliding glass doors opening directly onto the pool patio.
With added structural support, we expanded the openings between rooms creating a connected zone for entertainment, dining, and lounging. An inviting hallway leads to the spacious laundry room, contemporary bathroom, and quiet guest bedroom.
Custom built-in elements unique to this project become featured focal points while thoughtfully curated art adds a secondary layer of design interest and personal meaning for the clients. Throughout the space we repeated a high-contrast interplay among wood finishes, tile, slab, metallics, and furnishings. Soft cool neutral paint tones harmonize; brass accents and white oak introduce warmth; linear light accents punctuate. Large format porcelain tile runs throughout providing a durable and forgiving flooring surface for wet feet scrambling in from the pool!
